The snows finally fell, enough to blanket Yoshi in four inches of freshness. My parents were in town for Kylen's sixth birthday, so the timing was perfect. At 11am, dad and I hit the hill with a trailer full of rope tow goodies and 600' of rope, and began to assemble, An hour later and we fired it up.
Skiing. Honest-to-god skiing in my own yard. Yoshi Express never once jumped a pulley or struggled to get us up the hill. In fact, we struggled more to remember the tricks of how to use a rope tow without getting hand cramps. Kylen had a blast, although we didn't coax Riley outside since his skis are in the shop. Next big snowfall it will be party time.
Two years ago I looked at that hill and thought 'what if'? Last year I kicked myself for not trying. This year I had more fun than I should have making mistake after mistake, getting to know the good folks at Tractor Supply, and discovering that once you're in for a penny, you're in for quite a few pounds.
Worth every cent.
