Sitting (again) in Midway Airport, my home away from home. It should be condemned but that's just a small gripe for not having anyplace comfortable to sit.
Just wrapped a great week skiing at Park City. We skied two days at The Canyons and two at Deer Valley. The Sundance Film Festival was going on, making it the absolute perfect week to ski. There were 40,000 people in town, and not one of them, apparently, skied. The mountains were almost spooky empty. We skied untouched corduroy runs all the way to the end of the day. There were 15 empty chairs between skiers on the lifts. It was pure heaven, and fantastic snow. A couple celebrity sightings...the only A list person was Dennis Quaid in the cafeteria at Deer Valley.
We stayed with my Uncle Bob and Anne, who were the world's best hosts. They skied two days with us, then were gracious enough to play shuttle and cook gourmet meals. What a great stay. My mom came in for the last two days, so was a bit of a family reunion. I don't have all my photos downloaded, but here are a couple, including Dad and Uncle Bob on Guitar Hero which is about as addictive as crack.
Next year I think it's time to bring Riley, if he's up for it. Every little kid I saw on the slopes made me wish he was with us.
